The jackpot for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing climbed to $73 million after no player matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing
The numbers drawn Tuesday night were 4, 17, 24, 25, 48 and the “Mega Ball” of 34.
In addition to Georgia, Mega Millions is played in Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Washington, Texas and California.
While there have been no big winners from Georgia so far this year, there were three jackpot-winning tickets sold in the state in 2008.
In October, Rockmart’s Mark Staffa matched all six numbers and won a $42 million jackpot.
Two months earlier, a Carrollton family, Frank and Phyllis Skinner and their three children, claimed a $133 million Mega Millions jackpot.
Robert Harris, of Portal in southeast Geogia, became the largest single winner in Georgia Lottery history when he won the $275 million jackpot in the Feb. 22, 2008 Mega Millions drawing.
