Police Warn Of Lottery Scam
Thursday, April 17, 2008 posted 12:32 AM EDT
Orange City police released surveillance photos of two suspects who tried to rip off an elderly Deltona resident.
They were taken at a bank in Orange City.
The con artists told the man they'd won a lottery, but they claimed they weren't citizens so they needed him to pay the taxes.
They promised to give him $50,000, if he'd pay $30,000 in taxes.
Some bank tellers got suspicious when the con artists went to the victim's bank and tried to withdraw the cash.
The suspects fled before they could get any money.
