DES MOINES, Iowa -- One of two winners from Shenandoah from Wednesday's Powerball drawing stepped forward to claim her $200,000 prize.
Two quick-pick tickets sold in Shenandoah matched five Powerball numbers.
Teresa Sleep, 45, of Northboro won $200,000, and she bought her ticket at the Fareway, 1007 S. Fremont St. in Shenandoah, according to an Iowa Lottery news release.
Sleep, 45, works as a clerk at Casey’s General Store in Shenandoah. She said it was the assistant manager who actually told her how much she had won, the release said.
Sleep said in a statement that she plans to invest her winnings, pay off some bills and possibly travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to visit her older sister.
She claimed her prize at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Council Bluffs.
A person who bought the $800,000 ticket from the Whitehill Gas Co. on U.S. Highway 59 in Shenandoah still has yet to claim the ticket's winnings, the release said.
The purchaser added the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings from $200,000 to $800,000.
The winning Powerball numbers in Wednesday's $179.8 million jackpot drawing were: 10, 13, 16, 19, 24 and Powerball 15. The Power Play multiplier was 4.
