LINCOLN, Neb. -- The winners of February's record $365-million Powerball jackpot are debt-free and still living in Nebraska.
The eight winners also are no longer co-workers. They have all quit their jobs at the Lincoln ConAgra Foods Plant.
Lincoln attorney James Hoppe still represents all eight. He said two of the winners have bought new houses and one plans to build a house. At least three of them have taken vacations. Another has invested the money to help secure his children's future, while another still lives in her apartment and is contemplating what to do with the windfall. Another winner has given some of his winnings to family members.
Hoppe won't say how much he's been paid for his services, but that he was treated fairly.
The gas station clerk who sold the winning ticket said she has received a tip from three of the winners, but she won't say how much it was.
