There's a warning concerning a couple of scams.
The first one happened in Groton. Police say a woman received a letter with a check for more than $3,800 and instructions on how to collect 100-thousand dollars in lottery winnings.
The letter claimed to be from a sweepstakes and internet game payment center.
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is also warning people about calls claiming to be from government officials.
The callers offer grants and then ask for personal bank account information.
If you get that kind the advice being given is just to hang up.
