Numbers - all the numbers in the number field of a lottery. The number with a red background, for example, 09 is one of the winning numbers of the last draw in the selected time period. The number with a grey background, for example, 01 has never hit in the selected time period.

Rank - orders the numbers according to their current elapse time. The longer the current time, the higher the rank, the number is more overdue. Numbers with the same current elapse time rank the same.

Expected Elapse Time - means, theoretically, how long a number should wait to win. For an m/n lottery, its expected elapse time is n/m.

For example, for a 6/48 lottery, its expected elapse time is 48/6=8. This means every number should win in every 8 draws.

Current Elapse Times - illustrate how long (how many draws) all the numbers have been waiting so far in the selected time period with different colors of the bars:
  •   Red:   The current elapse time of the number is higher than expected elapse time.
  • Green:  The current elapse time of the number is equal to expected elapse time.
  •  Blue:   The current elapse time of the number is lower than expected elapse time.

This table shows the numbers which are sorted from the left - with the longer current elapse times, to the right - with the shorter current elapse times.

Numbers - all the numbers in the number field of a lottery. The number with a red background, for example, 46 is one of the winning numbers of the last draw in the selected time period.

Rank - the order of the numbers according to their current elapse times.

Current Elapse Time - lists the elapse times of the numbers above.

  Advanced Strategies

Current Elapse Time Analysis shows you how long a number has been "waiting" since the last time it was drawn as part of a winning combination. It also tells the ranks of the numbers according to their current elapse times. The longer the current elapse time, the higher the rank, the more overdue the number.

Current Elapse Time Analysis also tells the expected elapse times of all numbers, as well as the historical shortest, average and longest elapse times of numbers. It even gives the comparative results of the current elapse times, with the expected, shortest, average and longest elapse times.

Let's use an example to show how Current Elapse Time Analysis works:

The following are the winning numbers of the Maryland Lotto (6/49) game over the time period from January 2 to April 10, 1999. We want to perform a Current Elapse Time Analysis (Click here to see complete sample result) on these numbers:

We learn some interesting and useful facts from the 29 draws in this selected time period.

For example, Number 01 never won during this time period. So, it's been given a grey background and its current elapse time is 29, meaning it has not been drawn during the entire selected time period.

Number 13 won in draws 02, 07 and 17. Its current elapse time is 12 because there have been 12 draws since its last win. Its historical longest elapse time is 9 (9 draws from draw 08 to 16). Its historical shortest elapse time is 01 (having gone one draw before it was selected in game 02). Its average elapse time is calculated by adding all of the elapse times divided by the ht times.

Keep in mind that numbers with the longest elapse times are not necessarily the best ones to play. Turn your attention to the numbers with red backgrounds on the historical longest elapse time row. These numbers have been in elapse too long and their current elapse times have exceeded their historical longest elapse period. You may want to play these numbers for several draws. If they don't win, stay away from these numbers for awhile because they may have entered into a long dormant state.
