CLINTON - Clinton police authorities are warning of a new mail scam in which a cashier's check is sent as a down payment to even more lottery winnings. Once the check is put in the bank, a notice is sent asking for money from the recipient for insurance and to cover any kind of processing expense so that the additional winnings can be sent.
